Catch that negative thought, or perhaps feeling, that comes with the thought and say "STOP, STOP, STOP" until the mind becomes quiet. At the same time, think of a time you had great thoughts and felt good inside. Were you lying on the beach? What did it look, feel and smell like? Maybe it was a time you felt strong.
